Huawei Watch D3 Launches in the UAE: A Medical-Grade Blood Pressure Monitor on Your Wrist

Smartwatches have long tracked our steps, sleep and heart rate. Huawei’s latest goes a step further. The HUAWEI WATCH D3, now launched in the UAE, is a medical-grade blood pressure monitor built into a slim, everyday smartwatch.

The watch has CE Medical Device certification for resting blood pressure measurement, 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM), and readings before and after exercise. Huawei says it’s the world’s first wrist-worn device to meet ISO standards for accurate blood pressure measurement around physical activity.

How it works

Instead of relying on light sensors alone, the D3 uses a tiny mechanical airbag inside the strap that inflates to take a reading. This works much like a traditional arm cuff, but it’s discreet enough to wear all day and night. You can set daytime intervals, take manual readings whenever you like, and let quieter automatic readings run overnight. For lighter everyday use, a minimally disruptive mode takes just four daytime and three nighttime readings to build a full-day trend chart.

Smarter exercise

Blood pressure can respond very differently to exercise from one person to the next, so the dedicated pre- and post-workout check is a useful feature. A Health Community function also brings family members’ health data together in one place, with real-time alerts if anything looks unusual. That’s reassuring if you keep an eye on an older parent’s health.

Designed to be worn

At 11.3mm thick and 40g, the watch is far more comfortable than the bulky arm cuffs usually used for 24-hour monitoring. The narrow strap is designed to stay comfortable even while you sleep. It comes in Black, Gold and Mocha Gold.

The HUAWEI WATCH D3 is priced at AED 1,799, and the purchase package includes a one-year HUAWEI Care plan.
