The Festival Plaza Book Club is Back

By Hayley Alexander

Bookworms, this one is for you. Beat the heat this summer and gather your fellow literature buffs or come alone and meet like-minded folks at The Festival Plaza Book Club. On Sunday June 26 head down to IKEA Bakery and Café for free coffee and a pastry; listen to the authors talk all about this month’s read, It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover.

This month’s gripping book was voted by a poll, a standalone contemporary romance novel, ‘Lily hasn’t always had it easy, but that’s never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She’s come a long way from the small town in Maine where she grew up—she graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. So when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lily’s life suddenly seems almost too good to be true’.

Get your questions ready as bubbly Channel Four’s Jade Worsley interviews Colleen and opens the floor for any burning questions. Jade will also be interviewing this month’s guest author Mariana Missakian. Mariana moved to Dubai at 18 years old, with her husband. She joined the fast-paced corporate world at a young age where she excelled in her career. Mariana felt like she lost her identity when she became a full-time mother and to a different kind of busy. She writes short essay-styled stories that describe her day-to-day, it’s heartfelt and hilarious. Mariana’s first book That Suburbia Lady a satire on women’s identity, head down to hear all about her switch from the corporate world to stay-at-home mum.
