Today Maria shares a typical day in her life and career:
6:30AM
My day starts with hydration and movement. I drink ½ little of water and then walk my 2 dogs. Then I tie up things around the house, sit down on my computer to plan my work day and then I have a hard boiled egg and coffee before I go for my workout. My exercise routine varies, some mornings it’s functional training, other days it’s yoga or pilates, strength training and I do 45mins of high intensive cardio once a week. I believe how you start your morning shapes your energy for the rest of the day. After my workout, I have a light, balanced breakfast, usually high-fiber and protein, to keep me energized.
9AM
This is when I focus on my content, meal plans and other projects for FitstyleME. Creating science-backed, practical meal plans, and coaching calls for busy women is at the heart of my business. My goal is to simplify nutrition by giving people clear, sustainable guidance they can actually apply in their daily lives. I also dedicate time to writing articles, working on my LinkedIn pieces, and preparing content for my Instagram and YouTube channels.
1PM
Lunchtime is my main meal, and when I work from home I love to cook. I make sure I eat intentionally and away from the computer, if my husband is home, we eat together at the dining table. I practice what I preach! I’ll often have a colorful salad with lean protein and good cabs. As part of my work, I act as a consultant for international wellness companies who want to enter the UAE market, helping them position themselves and connect with the right partners here, and most of these meetings take me outside home so I try to schedule them in the afternoons.
3PM:
Afternoons are often filled with meetings, coaching calls and networking events. Whether I’m creating a workshop, planning a wellness program for a hotel, or consulting on how companies can support their teams with wellness, this is where my passion for performance coaching meets business. I love showing companies that healthy employees are not only happier but also more productive.
6:30PM:
Dinner is my cue to finish the workday. I like preparing simple, wholesome meals that allow us to connect at the table. And this is followed by a 30mins walk with the dogs.
8PM:
Evenings are a mix of personal and professional networking. I’ve been living in Dubai for almost three years now, and I deeply enjoy the vibrant community here. Sometimes I attend wellness or business events, other evenings I spend with friends. Balance is important, something I always emphasize to my clients and audience.
9:30PM
Before bed, I wind down with tv or by calling my family in Colombia. I prepare my bedtime by cooling the temperature of the bedroom, turning on the red light, and talking to my husband about our day. We practice going to bed with a sense of gratitude, knowing that we are doing what we love and we help others while we’re doing it.
