New BMW X5 2026 Arrives in the UAE: Design, Technology and the First All-Electric iX5

Whether it’s the school run, a weekend trip to Hatta or a long drive to Abu Dhabi, the family car does a lot of work. The BMW X5 has been a popular choice for many UAE families, and now the fifth generation has arrived. It’s available through AGMC in Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, and through Abu Dhabi Motors in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.
A fresh new look
The new X5 is the first to bring in the design of BMW’s Neue Klasse range. It has an upright front end, an illuminated kidney grille and new “double-X” lights, which appear on a BMW for the first first time. Its doors open electrically at the lightest touch of the recessed handles. There are eleven paint colours to choose from and wheels up to 23 inches.
A calm, beautiful interior
Inside, the cabin is clean and uncluttered, with ambient lighting that wraps around from door to door. BMW is the first carmaker in the world to offer slate as a decorative finish, and there are glass details too. The new Panoramic Vision display stretches across the full width of the windscreen. For the first time, there’s also an optional passenger screen, which could be a welcome treat for whoever sits in the front.
More choice than ever
The new X5 is BMW’s first model to come with five different drive systems. These include the iX5, the first fully electric X5. According to BMW, the iX5 60 xDrive can travel up to 845 kilometres on a single charge, and it also supports fast charging.
Comfortable and confident
Adaptive suspension comes as standard, and advanced driver-assistance features help make every journey easier. Electric models also offer BMW Soft-Stop, which gives the smoothest braking BMW has ever offered.
The first versions of the new X5 launch in late November 2026, with the electric and plug-in hybrid versions following in early 2027.
