World’s First MICHELIN-starred Indian vegetarian Avatara Launch New Menu

Avatara, the world’s first MICHELIN-starred Indian vegetarian restaurant, unveils an inventive new menu that marks a reincarnation of its culinary identity.

In its most boundary-pushing evolution to date, the restaurant breaks away from traditional constraints and welcomes garlic, onion, and mushrooms onto the plate for the very first time.

This 17-course tasting journey is a testament to Chef Rahul Rana's visionary approach, transforming plant-based dishes into an elevated and immersive experience. Guests will embark on an extraordinary gastronomic journey, experiencing a harmonious blend of traditional techniques and avant-garde presentations. The introduction of these foundational aromatics, garlic and onion, alongside the earthy richness of mushrooms, unlocks a new dimension of taste, allowing for more intricate and layered flavour profiles.

The new menu is a vibrant tapestry of influences from across multiple Indian territories, meticulously woven into each dish. A few highlights include a mushroom tart, layered with black garlic aioli and truffle, a caramelised onion dumpling with roasted cauliflower, jackfruit kebab served with teardrop peas and spinach laid on top of a rich kafir curry. For dessert, a pandan paired with jaggery and sesame ice cream. Ending with a celebration of Indian mithai, featuring the classic Indian favourite, jalebi, served on top of milk balls and presented on a bed of roses and peacock leaves.

Playful, theatrical and elegant, this iteration of Avatara leans into its identity as a global leader in vegetarian fine dining, positioning it as a true trailblazer on the Middle East’s culinary scene.

Priced at AED 693, inclusive of taxes.
