When I move to a new city and settle down, I’m all about hunting down the best brunch spots, scoping out the perfect hot chocolate, and diving into the local shopping scene, but one of my favourite things to do? Figuring out which apps are absolute must-haves in that city!

Apps can be total game-changers, whether it’s for convenience, connection, information or entertainment, they keep everything you need right at your fingertips. They help streamline your day, solve last-minute problems, and honestly, just make life smoother.

Nowhere does this better than Dubai. The city is practically built on speed and service, with deliveries zipping across town 24/7. Whether I’m mid-recipe and missing that one key ingredient or suddenly realise I’m out of Baby Panadol (cue panic!), I know help is just an app away. It’s a luxury I didn’t realise I’d miss so much, until I travel back home and can’t get same-day delivery to save my life!

1.         Noon Minutes - Noon Minutes is that app my husband and I find ourselves tapping into almost daily - it’s honestly a game-changer. Need something in a hurry? Your order shows up at your doorstep in 10–15 minutes (yes, really!). I’ve grabbed everything from last-minute travel toiletry bags and Father’s Day cards to envelopes and even medication. It’s saved more than a few close calls! What really seals the deal? The option to leave your order at the door without ringing the bell, a literal blessing when you’ve got a sleeping baby and a hyper dog in the house. Trust me, it’s convenience at its finest!

2.         Deliveroo - An oldie but a goodie! Deliveroo has been fueling our cravings for over a decade, and if there were a global capital for Deliveroo orders, Dubai might just take the crown! In a city that never slows down, Deliveroo is the unofficial lifeline for busy professionals, late-night snackers, and anyone too tired to cook. From sushi to shawarma, it’s your go-to for meals on demand -delivered fast, fresh, and straight to your door.

So even if you forget to stock up (we’ve all been there), you won’t be stuck in a nappy emergency. These apps are every mama’s secret weapon!

5. Kibsons – Kibsons is a firm favourite for a reason! With a fantastic range of fresh produce, meats, seafood, dairy, and pantry staples, all with a big focus on organic, natural, and sustainably sourced goodies, this app makes healthy shopping feel effortless. 6.         Temu – Temu has totally grown on me, and I bet I’m not the only one! It’s become my go-to for everything, from baby toys and storage solutions to everyday household must-haves. The only catch? Delivery can take up to a week, which, let’s be honest, is totally normal everywhere else, but in Dubai’s instant-delivery world, it feels like a lifetime! Still, it’s well worth the wait for a bargain.
