Those who know me, will know how curious and passionate I am about wellbeing and personal development. I’ve done a lot in this space over the years, both traditional and alternative and I believe in how it can change your life whole heartedly.
Last month I was invited by Wellbeing Sanctuary in Al Safa to try one of their programmes. The Wellbeing Sanctuary positions itself as a boutique “mind-body-spirit” hub and it has a really lovely relaxed and calm feeling to it. I was booked in at 4pm after a wild day in the office and wow - I needed it.
Cup of warm tea in my hand, I settled in for my 90 minute session – The DecodeYou® Programme. They did joke, I’d come for the “deep” one – but I was up for it.
DecodeYou® is described by The Wellbeing Sanctuary as a “subconscious mind mastery” system that addresses survival-based stress, ancestral trauma, nervous-system dysregulation and multi-layered subconscious programming.
This isn’t a quick fix — rather, it promises deep rewiring through somatic, psychological and energetic work. The programme delves into personal, ancestral and karmic layers of patterning. It fuses modalities like hypnotherapy, CBT, neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), trauma release, shadow work, and nervous-system calibration.
The full training is broken up into five cycles (Principles → Duality/Karmic → Ancestral & Shadow → Inner Child → Pain/Trauma & Recalibration) – I attended an initial one-on-one session of DecodeYou® (rather than the full 5-cycle course) to try it out.
Before the main work began, you had to fill in a detailed questionnaire, which inclues questions about past therapy, patterns that repeat (anxiety, burnout, self-sabotage), body symptoms (sleep problems, hormone issues), and goals for transformation.
The therapist then mapped out what looked like “survival codes” in my nervous system - things I recognised (stress, overwhelm) and things I didn’t (ancestral holding, inner-child rejection).
Once awareness rose, the work shifted into “re-routing”: identifying a repetitive pattern (for me, chronic over-giving + burnout), tracing it to its origin (a childhood pattern of “I must be useful to be worthy”), then providing a sensory/embodied anchor to choose something different (a slower breath, a felt “No” in the torso). The practitioner spoke of “rewiring the subconscious mind” rather than simply giving better coping tools.
Post-session there was some journalling, to notice when the “old code” activates (for me: saying yes when I wanted to say no) and pausing before reacting. The idea being that you begin to catch the loop rather than staying in it.
If you’re looking for a relaxation or spa type session, this definitely is not it. If you’re looking to create change in your life, then embrace this. You may come out feeling emotionally raw. It’s not the faint-hearted as you may well have to face up to things you’ve been avoiding. It’s not a quick fix and you do need to invest both time and money wise to go on this journey. You need to commit to doing the homework and doing work in the real world too.
I left feeling a deeper stillness underneath my usual busyness, and a clearer sense of the “loops” I keep running. It’s early days yet, but I’m intrigued to see how this evolves from here.
