You just got served! Not literally. The world’s greatest tennis tournament is back this December with all your favorite players. Mubadala World Tennis Championship hosted by FLASH Entertainment makes its way to Abu Dhabi with a smashing return for its 14th season.
For those who would like to experience their excitement, then see you in court. MWTC has been held annually since 2009 at Zayed Sports City where thousands and thousands and thousands of fans come to watch selected royalty in smashing action.
This year, the World Championship pays tribute to renowned tennis player Serena Williams as she announces her retirement from sports. Serena left scars in people’s hearts as she hangs up her racket after a glittering career in which she took women’s tennis to new heights – with her powerful, roaring style securing 23 Grand Slam singles crowns and a total haul of 73 professional single titles.
Serena has made Abu Dhabi tennis history with her appearance in MWTC in 2017 then returned in 2018 for a thrilling match against her sister Venus. MWTC officials reserved a special place for Serena – the greatest female tennis player.
What to do during intermission? Off the courts, fans can enjoy some pretty chill time. Along the premises of the sports city, you can enjoy food trucks, tennis classes and mini tennis tournaments that happen in between games.
Last year, we’ve had Ons Jabeur and Andrey Rublev earn their title for the men and women category respectively. We’re eager to see who wins this year!
