Groceries for Gaza // How Your Weekly Shop Can Feed a Family

For most of us, the weekly grocery order is a simple routine. Until 31 October, it can also help put food on the table for a family in Gaza.
Careem has teamed up with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to launch Groceries for Gaza, letting UAE residents donate in just a few taps on Careem Quik. The need remains urgent: 1.4 million people in Gaza, two in every three, still face crisis levels of hunger or worse, and 80% of people are out of work.
Each donation funds a WFP food box that feeds a family of five. The boxes are filled with everyday staples such as fortified flour, pasta, lentils, beans, chickpeas, tomato paste and cooking oil. There are four options:
AED 92: feeds a family for 3–4 days
AED 184: one week
AED 367: two weeks
AED 734: one month (over 47kg of food)
Careem passes every donation to WFP, which buys the food and delivers it to the families most in need. Together, Careem hopes its community can raise AED 2 million this month.
How to donate:
Open the Careem app, tap Quik and find the Groceries for Gaza banner. Add a box to your basket on its own or alongside your shop, and check out as usual.
