As a seasoned professional with over 9 years of experience in the marketing industry, Mariko is deeply committed to the craft of content creation. She firmly believes that content remains king, regardless of the platform. Mariko's personality type, known as 'The Logistician,' reflects a direct, responsible, and determined approach to every project. While she adheres to established methodologies, she also values the unexpected, as it often leads to extraordinary results. Thriving under pressure, she always adheres to the principle that "the show must go on," and excels at developing practical solutions to any challenges that arise.
Mariko believes that true beauty comes from within. She's never been a fan of makeup or particularly skilled at applying it. Instead embracing her natural self, imperfections and all, inspired her to enhance her daily routine to bring out her inner beauty. This passion led to the creation of her business Tsukimi Wellness. The name 'Tsukimi' is inspired by a Japanese tradition celebrated in September, where people gather to joyfully watch the full moon—a celebration that resonates deeply with her.
Tsukimi Wellness offers a curated selection of wellness essentials designed to elevate self-care routines, allowing customers to indulge in moments of relaxation and rejuvenation. Each item in their collection is carefully chosen to enhance well-being and foster a sense of inner harmony. Their mission is to provide the tools and inspiration to make self-care an integral part of daily life, helping you to shine from within.
As a Moroccan with Spanish roots and a mother to a 7-month-old baby boy, Mariko is currently navigating the challenges of balancing family life, business, and full-time job. It often feels to her that 24 hours in a day just isn't enough to manage everything - we definitely hear here there!
Let's see a typical day in Mariko's life:
6AM: My day officially begins, though I've recently joined the "4 AM Club." I start by hydrating; the sensation of water coursing through my body feels incredibly refreshing. My next task is preparing fresh food for my baby—something he might not remember, but I will cherish these moments. Once he's awake, we share some playtime, followed by his morning routine, and then more playtime.
7:30AM: I dedicate 30 minutes to moving my body and connecting with my inner self. Slow Pilates is my go-to, as it provides a calming way to disconnect and reconnect. Afterward, I prepare my daily matcha and a nourishing breakfast. These quiet moments with my husband are essential, filled with morning conversations—even if they're about our baby's favorite nursery rhyme, "Humpty Dumpty." lol
9:00AM: At the office, I start with a "Focus Time" session for the first 30 minutes. This is when I plan my day, exploring ways to make it productive and fulfilling. I check emails carefully, always mindful of the person behind each message and the effort they might have put into writing it. Reading them thoughtfully is a small way to show respect and empathy.
10AM: As someone who isn't fond of meetings, I schedule them early in the day. This allows me to spend the rest of the day focusing on tasks and projects. I remind myself to pause, breathe, and hydrate—acknowledging my body's presence every hour. It's like hitting a reset button, refreshing my energy without losing focus on my work.
12NOON: Lunch break time! I make sure to have a balanced meal that fuels me for the rest of the day. I often bring a homemade meal, mindful of incorporating fresh ingredients and vibrant flavors. While eating, I like to catch up on some social media news, allowing myself a mental break from work. Sometimes, I'll take a walk around the office to reset my focus.
2PM: Post-lunch, I usually tackle the more creative aspects of my work. Whether it's brainstorming new ideas for Tsukimi Wellness or planning social media strategies, this is the time when I feel most inspired. I find that breaking up the routine with creative tasks keeps me energized and engaged.
4PM: By late afternoon, I often check in on ongoing projects and collaborate with my team. We discuss progress, address any challenges, and brainstorm solutions. It's important to me to maintain a supportive and positive work environment, where everyone's ideas are valued. This collaborative time helps me stay connected with my team and ensures we're all aligned in our goals.
6PM: Wrapping up work, I start preparing for the transition from work to family time. I quickly review my accomplishments for the day and set priorities for the next. This helps me mentally switch gears and ensures I leave the office with a clear mind. Once home, I enjoy cooking dinner with my husband. It's our way of unwinding together, and we often experiment with new recipes. (most of the times we end up getting a delivery lol)
8PM: Dinner is a family affair. We gather around the table, enjoying the meal and sharing stories from our day. It's a time for laughter, connection, and relaxation. After dinner, we play with our baby, enjoying these precious moments as he grows and learns. This evening time is sacred to us, a balance between nurturing our relationship and cherishing our little one.
10PM: As the day winds down, I focus on my self-care routine. This often includes a soothing bath or skincare ritual, It's my time to reflect on the day, express gratitude, and prepare for a restful night. I also spend a few quiet moments meditating, helping me to release any lingering thoughts and set a positive intention for the next day.
Finally, I end the day with some light reading before bed, ensuring I get a good night's sleep. With my family and work life so full, I treasure these moments of tranquillity, as they recharge me for the new day ahead.
