Other Women's Jobs // A Day In The Life & Career Of Tanya Mansotra

NAME: Tanya Mansotra

AGE: 29

INSTAGRAM HANDLE: bytanyamm

JOB TITLE: Founder of Sohum Wellness Sanctuary

MOVED TO THE UAE IN: 2014

As the Founder and Creative Visionary behind Sohum Wellness Sanctuary, Tanya's role spans from curating and fostering the right team, shaping the brand’s identity and guiding business development with a focus on Ayurveda - blending ancient healing traditions with modern practices.

With a foundation in design combined with her lifelong passion for wellness and holistic living, Tanya is able to create experiences that are both purposeful and aesthetically inspiring. She sees her work not just as managing a business, but as holding the responsibility of shaping a sanctuary where people can return to themselves, reconnect, and heal.

Let's discover a day in the life and career of Tanya:

8:00 AM

My mornings begin with visualisation, affirmations and breathwork. I believe in manifesting positive states as the mind doesn’t always distinguish between what’s real and what’s imagined. I also like to read a few pages of a self-help book to set an intentional and inspired tone for the day.

10:00 AM

At 10am, depending on the day, I like to practice yoga or head to the gym. Both help me maintain my physical health and mental clarity, which are vital for the kind of work I do.

12:00 PM

I arrive at the Sohum Wellness Sanctuary, where I meet with my team and review the updates of the day. I usually sit with the heads of departments to align on priorities, ensuring every aspect of our sanctuary runs smoothly from guest experiences to operational details.

2:00 PM

I often spend this time in conversation with our wellness therapists and Ayurvedic doctor. These briefings help me stay closely connected to the heart of what we do: offering authentic, professional and deep healing services to our community.

4:00 PM

As afternoon draw in, I like to dedicate them to the business side of the sanctuary. This includes general admin such as signing approvals, reviewing invoices, overseeing marketing activities and working with my designers to plan our social media grid. It’s the balance between creativity and structure that keeps Sohum thriving.

6:00 PM

Evenings at Sohum are lively and fulfilling, as the sanctuary transforms into a community hub, I enjoy seeing my vision come into action. Whether its overseeing events such as Reiki circles and sound healing sessions or engaging in cacao ceremonies or Tai Chi classes I always try and involve myself in the community I have created. Sometimes it’s something as simple joining in a coffee party gathering, but all of it serves our mission of creating meaningful connections and fostering a sense of belonging.

8:00 PM

I close my workday and usually have dinner with my family around 8pm. Since Dubai doesn’t yet offer many vegan dining options, we enjoy meals at home, at Sohum Cafe, or occasionally we go out to explore the few plant-based restaurants that we’ve found across Dubai. Food, for me, is another form of mindful living.

10:00 PM

The evening winds down with family time, walking our dogs and then reflecting in my gratitude journal. I end the day with my Ayurvedic skincare ritual, closing the circle with self-care before resting for the next day.
