JD Malat Gallery Dubai is proud to present '#SHOTBYADAMS', a solo exhibition by the iconic Bryan Adams, marking his first ever show in the Middle East.
Internationally recognised for his creative contributions across music and photography, Adams explores a bold new direction in this series – using multi-coloured plexiglass to transform the relationship between subject and viewer.
Inspired by the expression 'seeing things through rose-tinted glasses', Adams layers coloured plexiglass between lens and subject, introducing a unique, dreamlike quality to some of his most celebrated portraits – including figures such as Kate Moss and Mick Jagger. Offering a fresh perspective on how we experience photography as a form of art and inviting viewers to question how we interpret identity, fame and visual truth.
Adams' portraits have long been recognised for their outstanding quality, earning him the German Lead Award in both 2006 and 2012 for his exceptional portrayal of Mickey Rourke. His work captures the uniqueness and complexities of human nature; skills honed during his distinguished career photographing for i-D, Harper's Bazaar and Vogue. His photographs are now held inprestigious international private and public collections, including his celebrated portrait of the lateQueen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, permanently housed in the National Portrait Gallery, London.
“It’s a real honour to be showing this body of work for the first time in Dubai. The plexiglass acts like a visual metaphor – refracting not just the subject, but our assumptions. It’s about perception, distortion, and the beauty of seeing differently.” – Bryan Adams
“As a gallery committed to presenting bold, thought-provoking work, we’re proud to bring #SHOTBYADAMS to Dubai’s dynamic art community. This exhibition marks a compelling chapter in Bryan’s photographic practice, exploring distortion, materiality, and the shifting nature of the image”– Jean-David Malat, Founder, JD Malat Gallery

Fresh strategies can help independent artists reach new listeners and strengthen their audience. Creative music promotion involves more than just releasing songs; it includes building a brand, engaging fans, and making lasting impressions. Social media platforms offer powerful ways to connect through short videos, live sessions, and direct interaction. Another effective music promotion method is collaborating with other musicians or influencers to expand reach. Live performances, even small local shows, build genuine fan connections. Consistency in releasing content, maintaining email lists, and sharing stories keeps audiences engaged.
