Mermaids of Arabia Makes Splash For World Ocean Day With Magical Experiences and Education

In celebration of World Ocean Day on June 8th, Mermaids of Arabia is inviting families across the UAE to experience the wonder of mermaids while learning how to protect the oceans at The Dubai Mall.

Children can transform into mermaids or pirates, meet a live mermaid, take the powerful Ocean Protectors Pledge, and leave with themed photos, gifts and activity books that extend the magic at home.

Through captivating live performances, storytelling, and original music, Mermaids of Arabia blends fantasy with environmental education - empowering children to become the next generation of ocean protectors.

Behind the scenes, Mermaids of Arabia is making meaningful changes to reduce its environmental impact. Face gems, artificial nails and decorative stickers are being phased out, while all plastic packaging has been eliminated across products. Bubble wrap has been replaced with biodegradable wool, and plastic makeup applicators have been swapped for sustainable bamboo alternatives. These changes reflect a deep commitment to the same ocean-protecting values that Mermaids of Arabia hope to inspire in children every day.

At the heart of the initiative is the “Protect the Ocean” school tour – a 45-minute session where  a mermaid leads ocean-themed breathing exercises to help calm the nervous, reads a custom story, live singalongs with affirmations and a Q&A. Children take the Ocean Protectors Pledge, receive a certificate, and bring home activity worksheets to continue the learning.

Mermaids of Arabia also publishes The Tides – A Sea of Positivity, a free in-store newspaper featuring ocean-saving tips, original stories, and a certificate kids can proudly hang at home.
