Introduction To Method Acting Course Launches In Dubai

What is this mysterious craft called ‘Method Acting’? Is it really the magic behind all great actors? But what is the secret? Taught by one of Dubai’s leading acting teachers, Alex Broun, this class will explore the four great “acting methods”: Constantin Stanislavski, Sanford Meisner, Lee Strasberg and Stella Adler.

Over the first four weeks of the course one session will be dedicated to exploring each of these four methods. Participants in the course will learn about all four of these techniques, which are used by many of the world’s leading actors, and discover which “method” works best for them.

In the second four weeks participants will have a chance to use these techniques and apply them to stage and screen scenes which they will rehearse with a scene partner. The course finishes with a showcase where they will present the scenes they have worked on to an invited audience of family and friends at SIMA. The scenes are also filmed so they will take away a record of your performance.

"These are the techniques the greatest actors in the world use and after being introduced to the techniques participants can decide which works best for them, whether it is drawing on personal memory as Strasberg suggests or surrendering to your imagination as Stella Adler inspired her students to do. The participants then are given a chance to work on their own scenes utilising the techniques that best work for them, finishing with a showcase in front of a live audience - and all in just eight weeks."
