The Rum-based cocktail is synonymous with the Trader Vic’s brand and sprung to life over seventy years ago when Vic Bergeron, founder of Trader Vic’s created it! As the story goes, a guest took a first sip and exclaimed “Maita’I roa ae!” which is Tahitian for “the very best” or “out of this world” – and the rest is history!
