Avatara, the world’s first MICHELIN-Starred fine dining Indian vegetarian restaurant, is staging a one-night only Sommelier Takeover on 12th December, in collaboration with BOCA, the acclaimed modern Spanish MICHELIN Green Star restaurant ranked No. 12 on MENA’s 50 Best Restaurants, and renowned for its outstanding wine programme.
BOCA has been recognised with multiple wine awards including the 2024 Star Wine List Gold Star for Best Medium-Sized Wine List, Gold Star for Sustainable Wine List, Silver Star Global Awards, and the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence in 2021, 2022 and 2023. The evening promises an inventive and boundary-pushing exploration of wine pairing, blending fine wine, innovative vegetarian gastronomy and creative collaboration.
The event brings together Ninad Jani, Sommelier at Avatara and Shiv Menon, Head of Wines and Operations at BOCA, who will co-create a bespoke six-wine selection for the night, including one sweet wine, to complement Chef Omkar Walve’s seventeen-course tasting menu.
Starting at 693 AED, each sommelier will present three wines to pair with the dishes, offering two distinct interpretations of pairing philosophy. A non-alcoholic option, priced at 360 AED, will also be available for those seeking an alcohol-free experience. On this occasion, Avatara will exclusively serve the tasting menu with the curated wine selection. Three seatings are available at 6:00pm, 7:30pm, and 8:30pm.
The dinner offers guests the opportunity to witness how two masters from MICHELIN-starred restaurants interpret the same culinary story through contrasting styles; a one-night collaboration that celebrates creativity, craftsmanship, and the evolving culture of wine pairing in Dubai.
Seats are strictly limited and reservations are mandatory. For bookings and more details, call +971 58 143 2867.
