If, like us, you are pretty much obsessed with any sneakers released by adidas, then you want to make yourself free between April 19th-20th.
Adidas Originals will be unveiling The Loomhood Collection across Dubai and Riyadh on these dates and in Cairo from April 24th. The collection celebrates craftsmanship with cultural heritage, working with local artisans while drawing inspiration from the key cultural hubs across the region.
Each collection will showcase the neighbourhood’s name and the precise coordinates of the artisan, creating a unique connection between the wearer and the artisan.
Custom laces are at the heart of this collection, with each pair drawing from a traditional textile technique unique to its region:
Talli lace from the UAE, woven in collaboration with Dream Girls Tailor, a family-run shop in Al Fahidi.
Sadu lace from Saudi Arabia, created with input from master artisan Rashidah, known for her decades of weaving expertise.
Khayamiya lace from Egypt, celebrating the work of Cairo’s renowned appliqué artist, Mohsen Shaaban.
Dr. Reem Tariq El Mutwalli, founder of The Zay Initiative, helped ensure the authenticity and cultural accuracy of each lace design.
The launch will kick off with a two-day pop-up at Dream Girls Tailor in Al Fahidi, Dubai (April 19–20), followed by activations in adidas Originals stores at Dubai Mall and Riyadh Park Mall (April 21–30), and at Maison 69 in Cairo (April 24–30). Purchasers will receive free “Loomhood” customization and exclusive lace designs.
