Don’t you agree, activewear has come a long way in recent years? Our love of athletic and leisurewear, namely athleisure has gone on to all new heights in the last few years and we couldn’t be happier that comfy clothing remains firmly IN! We don’t think it’s purely down to Covid either – we all just love to be comfy whether home or out and about, right?
Here’s our list of our favourite activewear brands that can be a great addition to your wardrobe for the gym, home, work or even dare we say it out out!
Would any list be complete without the OG athleisure brand Lululemon. Even the original has come a long way now and is much more than just leggings. From trousers you could wear to work, to comfy knickers and jumpers – Lululemon has it all. www.lululemon.com
Aussie brand Lorna Jane also never lets us down in terms of quality and style. Established in 1990, the brand’s collections are always flattering and chic in equal measure. We love the fact there is always so much colour and pattern in their range and the leggings always suck in all the right places. www.lornajane.com
We love a local success story and L’Couture is definitely this and is excitingly taking on the big boys. Founded by entrepreneur and fitness enthusiast Lyndsay Doran, the brand frequently drops new collections which are all supportive, functional and feminine. The quality is beautiful, detailing spot on and we’re a big fan with our cupboards filled with many pieces.
One of the original fitness wear brands Nike has really stepped up their game in recent years when truly they were lagging behind. These days we love the range of colours and styles Nike have for us to wear and not just to the gym and you just know the quality will be good and they will last too. www.nike.com/ae
The Giving Movement
Recent stock issues aside, we are big fans of local success story The Giving Movement and it’s great to see them go onto global greatness too. The streetwear label only launched in 2020 and it has t-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, leggings, joggers, jackets and more in pretty much every colour you’d like. The fabrics are 100% sustainable, all is locally sourced and they give back with AED 15 donated to charity for every item sold.
Co-founded by one of our favourites Kate Hudson, active lifestyle brand Fabletics is affordable, high quality and stylish. The styles are cute and the sizing is broad which always makes us happy. www.fabletics.com
Adidas, another of the original fitness brands has also stepped up its game of late and has a broad collection of clothing for gym and regular wear. With some interesting collaborations including Gucci and Stella McCartney and more sustainable fabrics they just keep getting better too. We love all the yoga wear and bodysuits too.
The creation of seriel entrepreneur Natasha Zaki, recently launched sustainanle loungewear brand Glossy Lounge is definitely one to watch. We love the bright colours, beautiful soft fabrics and the body suits are great for work as well as play. All pieces are designed and made in the UAE using eco-friendly fabrics and upcycled materials.
