Sense on the Edge, the iconic mountaintop restaurant at Six Senses Zighy Bay, is unveiling a bold new culinary concept designed to awaken the senses. Situated 293 metres above the azure waters of Zighy Bay, overlooking the dramatic landscapes of the Hajar Mountains and the Gulf of Oman, the restaurant is set to redefine immersive dining with its latest experience, Journey of the Senses.
This new 12-course tasting menu takes guests on a sensory adventure, where each dish, sound, and scent is carefully curated to create a truly memorable evening. Drawing inspiration from the rugged beauty of Dibba and the world’s most vibrant culinary traditions, the menu is crafted using organic produce sourced mostly from our own farm located in Dibba, alongside line-caught seafood and sustainably raised meats. Everything is harvested only when nature dictates it is ready, ensuring that the menu evolves with the seasons. The current menu will be available until early summer, offering a thoughtfully curated selection that highlights the season's finest ingredients, ensuring an ever-evolving experience that celebrates nature's freshest offerings.
The journey begins long before the first course is served. Guests are transported up the mountain from the resort in the bay below in a four-wheel drive, with the soothing aroma of frankincense and meditative soundscapes setting the tone for the evening ahead. Upon arrival, the melodic resonance of a singing bowl signals the transition into an evening of culinary discovery. At the reception called the Sablah, diners roll a very special dice to determine the first step into the experience before settling into their dining space, where a team of world-class chefs presents a meticulously designed menu that weaves together influences from the countries where the chefs have been exposed to, and our freshest farm ingredients.
Throughout the evening, the restaurant’s expert team guides guests through each course, enhancing the experience with thoughtful storytelling and carefully selected beverage pairings, including creative teas, cocktails, and fine wines curated by the Head Sommelier.
The sensory experience does not end with dinner. Upon returning to their private villa, guests will complete the journey with a surprise turndown gift, offering a final touch of magic to complete the evening.
