Picking a nursery for your little ones can be a very daunting experience. There are many to choose from, all with their own personal offering. We were very excited by the most recent spot on the block, the Redwood Center of Excellence. The doors opened earlier this week in Al Barsha 2, showcasing a truly unique sustainable space for children aged 45 days to 6 years, to learn and thrive.
From the founders of Kids First Group, this forward-thinking center seeks to redefine and transform the traditional concepts of early learning. The space adapts to a child's needs and perception of the world, rather than dictating how or what they should learn. The center uses lots of organic materials, the color green, and natural light to instill calmness in a child’s day.
Inspired by nature you a met by a Redwood Tree the moment you enter, bringing in the natural and homely feel. This feeling then runs throughout the center bringing an 'outside - in' feel. Classrooms intersect to reveal a communal area called The Piazza, where children of different ages can come together and interact.
The center offers full-immersion bilingual options for English and Arabic or English and French and follows an emergent and Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) based curriculum which is blended with best practices from several approaches including Montessori, Reggio, STEM and the arts.
