It takes something pretty good for me to venture out after dark, but the Steak & Frites Night that has newly launched at Hillhouse Brasserie caught my attention.

Given the traffic in Dubai currently, I had slight fear over the 7pm reservation but I needn’t have worried as it was a breeze to get there, with lots of parking (is it just me who won’t go somewhere if the parking is a headache?).

Hillhouse Brasserie is a lovely space in Dubai Hills with a big outdoor terrace making it perfect for the long-awaited alfresco dining. We chose a spot outdoors with views of lake as we were greeted with our menu. There was nothing over the top or complicated, you simply choose how you like your steak cooked and pick your sauce.

When it arrived, it didn’t disappoint. Perfectly cooked this Thursday evening out is a great way to kick-start the weekend early or for those date nights we always say we will have, but never do.

Available ever Thursday from 7pm onwards, the offer is priced at AED 185 (food only). To complement the experience, guests can also select from an exclusive menu of grape beverages by the glass, specially handpicked to pair with the steak.

Best of all? The service was very good, and speedy, which meant we were home by 9.30 (after a little chocolate fondant) which is my eyes is a huge win!
