Queen Elizabeth's School Puts Wellbeing at the Heart of the Classroom with King's College Hospital Dubai Partnership

Queen Elizabeth's School, Dubai Sports City, has introduced a new wellbeing model through its partnership with King's College Hospital Dubai, becoming the first UAE school to appoint a dedicated on-site Health and Wellness Coordinator. The role serves students, parents and staff, embedding physical, emotional and mental wellbeing into everyday school life.

Beyond existing doctor and nurse provision, King's specialists - dietitians, lifestyle consultants and occupational health experts, will design nutrition initiatives, wellness programmes and family seminars. The move responds to sobering data: the WHO reports half of all mental health conditions begin before age 14, while research links childhood obesity to significantly higher cardiovascular risk by age 55.

"Our ambition is to develop confident, capable and compassionate young people," says Founding Principal Dan Clark, noting that wellbeing is "woven into every aspect of school life rather than sitting alongside it."

Dr. Hasan Alogaily of King's College Hospital Dubai adds that connecting parents, teachers and clinicians allows concerns to be identified and addressed earlier.

The initiative builds on existing pastoral programmes including QE Flourish, QE House and QE Futures, alongside partnerships with ISD Dubai Sports City and the Real Madrid Foundation.
