JOB TITLE: Founder and Managing Director of Three Layer Hospitality

MOVED TO THE UAE IN: 2020

As Founder and Managing Director of Three Layer Hospitality, I oversee several national and international food businesses, including Jun’s, Little Jun’s, Pind Bathinda, Circle of Crust, King’s Dairy, Mambo Gourmet Pizza, and We Idliwale. I manage the company broadly with a majority of my focus on business growth and people management. My forte lies in creating an environment that is open and approachable, while building strong relationships with the partners of our businesses. The day-to-day work never stops and there is always an idea or opportunity that we are working on bringing into reality. Aside from this, I am extremely passionate about my family, my spirituality, and my self-care.

7:00 AM - 8:00 AM: Every morning I like to do a meditation and reflection for spiritual grounding  before starting my day. I have been practicing Nichiren Daishonin’s Buddhism for the past 14 years, which is a philosophy that upholds the dignity of each human life in the same measure.

8:00 AM - 8:30 AM: This is when I’ll have a kickoff meeting with the team leaders in India – we usually catchup with each other's agendas, streamline plans, and discuss any important updates.

8:30 AM - 9:30 AM: After my meeting, I usually dedicate an hour to working out with my personal trainer - I truly value living a healthy lifestyle, and it’s another outlet to clear my mind.

10:00 AM - 11:00 AM: After a short break following my gym session, I’ll head into a strategic planning meeting with the executive team to discuss expansion opportunities and financial projections.

11:00 - 11:30 AM: I’ll then take interviews with prominent business publications to discuss the company's growth strategy and leadership approach moving forward.

12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: Midday is usually for a site visit, either in-person or virtually, for a potential new location for one of the company's hospitality brands, assessing feasibility and market fit.

1:30 PM - 2:30 PM: This is usually my time to meet up with some friends or family over lunch, to reconnect and reset before carrying on the rest of my day.

2:30 PM - 3:30 PM: Time to get back to work…this is when I review and approve budgets or financial reports with the CFO and company leaders.

3:30 PM - 4:30 PM: This is usually for scheduled calls to go over various tactical plans for the upcoming fiscal year.

4:30 PM - 5:30 PM: I like to set aside some time for personal development reading,  or reviewing industry reports related to leadership, entrepreneurship, or the hospitality industry.

5:30 PM - 7:30 PM: This is my favourite part of the day! It’s when I can sit down and have dinner at home with my family, followed by quality time together, either in person or virtually (depending on where I am!).

8:00 PM onwards: Time to relax – some of my relaxation activities include Buddhist chanting, home renovation follow-ups, self-care, and just some general downtime.
