AGE: 41
INSTAGRAM HANDLE: @placentaplus JOB TITLE: CEO
MOVED TO THE UAE IN: 2023
Danielle Kinney is a mum of three children aged 16,15,11. She started her company back in 2015 after processing her third baby’s placenta. She'd suffered from PPD after the birth of her second daughter and wanted a natural approach to my recovery third time around.
Placenta Plus was never a business plan but after feeling the benefits herself she knew it had to be available for everyone. As the company grew so did the demand in other countries which then lead to the move to Dubai. Dubai had always been their highest international request for our service. Since opening in Dubai, Danielle & her team have now opened in LA too.
Danielle describes her workdays as long but so rewarding knowing that they are supporting woman in the most precious period of their lives.
Today Danielle shares a typical day in her world with us:
8AM:
Check emails and get ready to set about my day. I’m normally putting washing on taking washing out of the dryer the usual household chores. Ensure kids are ready for school and get us all out of the house and to our destinations on time. I get to work for around 9am in the time between 9-10am I’ll prepare staff rotas for the month deal with expenses for the company and check in with my business partners to see what is on the agenda for the week ahead before meeting with the team to discuss our plans.
10AM:
Have my first zoom meeting of the day this is normally with Uk-Dubai talk about our week ahead. I then check in with each lab in the UK to ensure everything is running smoothly.
12NOON:
I grab a fast lunch and really try to give myself some personal admin time checking school emails, arranging things for the children or myself doctor/dentist appointments etc.
2PM:
Once I feel everything is covered in work, I start to get myself ready to leave to start the school run between 2pm-3pm I’m often found in the supermarket trying to figure out what I can grab for dinner.
4PM:
I get the kids from school quick snack then I start my working day with our LA lab. This is usually a zoom meeting then emails with doctors and other birth workers again discussing the week ahead ensuring continuity of care for our clients.
6PM:
Grab dinner with family try to have a hour of family time catching up on the day with children. Some days my son has football training around this time so dinner time can vary. Between the hours of 6-7pm
8PM:
Around 8pm I walk my dog for 40 minutes this gives me some time to clear my head and just be alone in my thoughts. When I get home from my walk I jump on zoom and start my working day with our LA lab.
10PM:
After zooms with LA I take a bath and try to chill down I will get into bed with Netflix on and prepare my list of priorities for the next day.
