Other Women's Jobs // A Day In The Life & Career Of Daisy Primett

Name: Daisy Primett

Age: 32

Instagram: @daisyprimett @thevaofficedubai

Job Title: Founder & CEO

Moved to the UAE in: January 2022

Daisy is the Founder & CEO of The VA Office, based here in Dubai. She helps entrepreneurs and small businesses take control of their admin, operations and social media so they can spend more time growing their brands and less time drowning in the day-to-day.

She started the business in November 2023, just five months after becoming a mum to her son Arthur. At the time, it felt like a leap into the unknown, but she knew she wanted to create a business that gave her flexibility while also proving that women don’t have to choose between family and ambition.

Before The VA Office, Daisy worked in both the UK and UAE in roles that gave her the skills she now uses daily. From managing teams and projects in public service back home in England, or looking after client relationships here in Dubai. It’s those experiences, combined with her love of systems and clear communication that shaped the way she runs her business today.

Looking forward, Daisy's vision is to grow The VA Office into a supportive team that offers women flexible, meaningful work: somewhere they can thrive professionally without compromising on life outside of work.

Let's discover Daisy's typical day...

8am

My mornings are all about Arthur and being a mum! At 14 months, he’s full of energy, so it’s breakfast, play and getting him ready for nursery. Once he’s dropped off, I usually grab a coffee (always on the lookout for new spots in Dubai so all recommendations welcomed!) and settle into work. Mornings are when I do my most focused client tasks. This may involve clearing inboxes, updating trackers or working on projects that need real concentration.

10am

I like to take a break mid-morning to move my body. Sometimes that’s Pilates, sometimes the gym, sometimes just a walk with a podcast. It’s my time to reset and I find I come back sharper and more creative. Running a business can easily take over your entire day, so this time for me has become non-negotiable.

12 noon

By lunchtime, I’m usually back at my laptop. This part of the day is for business development: updating LinkedIn, following up on proposals, checking contracts or brainstorming ideas for new services. I also catch up with my own VA to see what’s outstanding and where she needs input. Having that support has been a game changer and it’s taught me the value of delegating, even in my own business.

2pm

The afternoon is a mix of things depending on the day and my plans. Sometimes it’s life admin, sometimes working on a new project behind the scenes and other times it’s catching up with friends or contacts I’ve met through networking. Building relationships here in Dubai has been such a key part of growing The VA Office and I really enjoy the community side of it. I think this is one of the most attractive benefits of being in the UAE, everyone is keen to help each other and contact sharing to help one another.

4pm

After picking Arthur up at 3pm, the afternoon is all about him. From 4–6pm, it’s his time: play, dinner, bath and bedtime. I love that I get those hours with him every day. It forces me to stop working, be present and enjoy the little moments. Again going back to my reason ‘why’. I really didn’t want to miss special time with him as it goes so quickly.

6pm

Once Arthur’s asleep, I’ll often log back on to finish any loose ends from the day: replying to clients, prepping tasks or even just planning meals and getting the house sorted for the next day. It’s a mix of business and home reset and it helps me feel like things are under control.

8pm

Evenings are for my husband and I. We have dinner together, catch up on our days and usually watch sport or a Netflix documentary. It’s the quiet space we both need after busy days. I’m making a conscious effort to get back into reading as well - I always alternate my reading from a self development book to a fictional book, I like being able to escape from life and get engrossed into a book but also learning new skills and bettering myself through self-help books.

10pm

By this time, I’m always in bed! Since becoming a mum and starting a business (although probably before as well!), sleep has become sacred! I like winding down early so I can be ready to start again the next morning.

No two days look exactly the same, but the structure is usually there. My mornings are for focus, afternoons for connection, evenings for family. Starting The VA Office just months after having Arthur wasn’t easy, but it’s given me a sense of purpose and balance I didn’t know I needed. I’m proud that I’ve built something that supports my clients, but also sets an example, for Arthur, and hopefully for other women - that you can create a business that works around the life you want.
