New Beachfront Restaurant in Dubai: Casa Playa Brings Ceviche, Tacos and Sunset Views to Bluewaters

Dubai’s cooler months were made for sunset dinners by the sea, and Banyan Tree Dubai has a new spot to enjoy them. Casa Playa, a Latin-inspired restaurant and bar on the resort’s Bluewaters beachfront, is open daily from 6pm to 10pm, with views across the Arabian Gulf.
The restaurant is designed around golden hour. Guests settle in as the sun dips and the beach takes on a warm evening glow, and the pace is unhurried. The menu brings together the bold, smoky and zesty flavours of Latin America, from Peruvian-style ceviche and Mexican tacos to Argentine-style grills and Spanish tapas. Everything is made for sharing.
What to order
Start with The Pearl, a selection of sea bass ceviche, tuna tartare and oysters with spiced tomatillo relish and lime. The Pulpo a la Brasa is another standout: charcoal-grilled octopus with smoked potato purée, paprika glaze and charred lemon. For a celebration, the Casa Playa Grand Catch is a seafood feast of jumbo prawns, Canadian lobster and a whole butterflied sea bass.
Save room for dessert. Cinnamon churros come with dark chocolate sauce and dulce de leche, and the Tarta de Santiago is a traditional almond cake served with Chantilly cream. For something lighter, there are exotic fruits with sorbet.
After dark
As the evening goes on, the atmosphere picks up. On Fridays and Saturdays, a live DJ plays Latin-inspired sets on the beach. From Sunday to Thursday, a curated Latin soundtrack plays from 6pm to 9pm, setting a more relaxed mood for dinners with family or friends.
