Love Through Loss: 2 Days Of Awareness and Support For Baby & Pregnancy Loss


Love Through Loss

Baby Loss Awareness Week is now in its 22nd year globally, providing a safe and supportive space for those whose lives have been touched by pregnancy and baby loss, a life event that will affect nearly half of all adults today.


From 9-15 October Baby Loss Awareness Week will bring the community together to speak out to increase understanding of the impact of loss, remove shame and stigma and remember all babies. It also plays a crucial role in raising awareness of the importance of ongoing bereavement support and the essential work required to improve pregnancy outcomes and save babies’ lives.


The event brings much needed awareness, education and support to the many people affected by and those supporting families through baby and pregnancy loss, as well as those who have struggled or been unable to become parents. It provides support, much needed conversation and a sense of unity for all affected , whilst also providing a deeper emotional education for professionals.


Love Through Loss GCC 2024 will take place as follows:


· Thursday 10th October, 9am – 8pm – A full day online event providing education and support. Each session will be hosted by a specialist within a specific area of baby and pregnancy loss as well as a person with lived experience. Sessions will speak on topics including loss experienced at any stage from conception to infancy. There will also be interactive sessions such as mindfulness through grief, as well as guidance sessions for those currently having to navigate family building, pregnancy and baby loss. · Sunday 13th October, 5.30-7.30pm – In person afternoon of Remembrance for the Global ‘Wave of Light’ at Nature Escapes, Al Barari, Dubai. Everyone is invited, wherever they are in the world, to light a candle at 7pm local time as a special mark of support and remembrance.

130 dedicated pregnancy and baby loss organisations come together during this week across the globe. Now in its 4th year in the GCC region, the Love Through Loss collective of communities and advocates with a presence across the GCC including the UAE, KSA and Qatar - all dedicated to breaking down barriers in the region and opening conversations that may be difficult to have in the mainstream. The collective includes Small and Mighty Babies, IVF Support UAE, Lala Langtry White Support, TFMR Mamas, Twins Plus Arabia, Still a Mum, The Prepared Pineapple and health and wellness agency TishTash Communications.
