#LifeLessons - The Biggest Life Learnings Of Linda Anggrea

NAME: Linda Anggrea

INSTAGRAM HANDLE: @lindaanggrea

JOB TITLE: Founder & CEO of Buttonscarves & Modinity Group

Linda Anggrea is a visionary businesswoman and the driving force behind Buttonscarves and Modinity Group. What began in her living room has grown into one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-rising fashion groups, home to a multi-brand portfolio with more than 100 stores, global campaigns, and millions of customers around the world. Linda’s journey started with a bold ambition: to build a homegrown fashion group that represents the creativity, diversity, and cultural voice of the Global South.

She believes in purpose-driven growth, where innovation, inclusivity, and sustainability work hand in hand to create meaningful impact. Under her leadership, Buttonscarves and Modinity Group continue to push boundaries, expanding internationally, strengthening communities, and shaping the future of modest and contemporary fashion with integrity and vision.

Today Linda shares with us her biggest life learnings:

One of the most important lessons I have learned is that consistency will take you further than motivation. Motivation comes and goes, especially when challenges arise, and building a brand from scratch requires perseverance through many unpredictable moments. What helped me grow Buttonscarves into what it is today was the commitment to show up every day, even on days when it felt hard, tiring, or overwhelming. Consistency teaches discipline, sharpens decision-making, and builds trust among your team and customers. You cannot control everything (not the market, trends, or external surprises) but you can control your effort. When you commit to small steps daily, you will eventually see big results. Consistency is a form of self-respect: it shows that you take your dreams seriously.

Another valuable lesson is that people are the heart of every business. Products, systems, and strategies are essential, but the team behind them determines how far a company can go. Throughout my journey, I learned that leadership is not about having all the answers, but about empowering people with trust, clarity, and purpose. When you genuinely care for your team and invest in their growth, they give back with loyalty, passion, and dedication. I realized that a strong organization is built not through pressure, but through shared vision and values. Creating a culture where people feel appreciated and inspired has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my career. A great leader grows people, not just a company.

Lastly, I learned that embracing change is essential for long-term success. The fashion industry evolves rapidly, and so does consumer behavior. At the beginning, I was often afraid of making the wrong decisions or taking risks. But with time, I understood that growth only happens when we are willing to adapt and innovate. Every new project, collaboration, or expansion taught me to be brave, curious, and open-minded. Instead of resisting change, I learned to see it as an opportunity to grow stronger and stay relevant. This mindset helped Buttonscarves expand into new categories, explore international markets, and build a community that continues to evolve with us. Change is not something to fear, it is something to lead.
