Born in Germany, Hoda grew up in a family full of Pharmacists and spent much of her childhood in her family’s pharmacy lab. Hoda believes this is where she developed her passion of creating beauty formulas and solutions and it’s what eventually led her to create her own brand, LoveLash.

LoveLash is a UAE homegrown brand dedicated to effective and nourishing products for lashes, brows and much more soon! They started with the first homegrown vegan and hormone-free Lash Growth Serum in UAE and have since added more products over the past year with many more in the pipeline!

Hoda also has a pharmaceutical background and used to work as an makeup artist for Dior in Germany, which gave her a good foundation to understand both the science and aesthetics behind effective beauty products.

In 2023, Hoda and her husband both left their corporate jobs to focus full-time on their dream businesses - LoveLash and Feed Kiani. Hoda's husband is an Emirati Food Blogger and together they travel the world for content for his YouTube and Instagram. For Feed Kiani, Hoda takes care of everything Business Development related and yes, she is also the camerawoman most of the time!

Let's discover a day in the life and career of Hoda:

6-7AM

I was always a morning person, so I love to wake up at 6 or 7am. I try to wake up with a positive and grateful mind and I try to manifesting another beautiful day. I start my day with walking our dog Bacardi, our little bundle of joy and our “Chief of Happiness”. And I try to get in a good 30 minutes of exercise at the gym to start the day strong and close this with at least 15 minutes of meditation or yoga to get my thoughts together and start the day!

8AM

Time for my favorite ritual: Skincare and makeup. I’m currently all about achieving that healthy glow, so I spend time using my favorite Korean and Japanese products that I got from my recent trip there. I am always using different toners and serums and finishing it off with moisturizer and sunscreen to protect my skin during my day.

9AM

Breakfast time is usually at one of our favorite cafés. I’m a big fan of working from spots like Brix or EastWest, where we first start with a good coffee and a delicious breakfast and then we spend couple of hours on our laptops. Usually, I start by checking LoveLash’s latest numbers and then analyzing our Meta ads, reviewing our website and updating the content and strategizing the next steps for growing LoveLash.

I also use this time to scroll through social media to be up to date with the latest trends, which is very important in this fast-paced world we live in!

12 NOON

Content creation time! Around noon, we usually start shooting content for Feed Kiani, usually for Instagram or YouTube. This is the time when we get to be fully creative, stepping away from our laptops to focus on the content. I love being behind the scenes and seeing my husband’s passion come to life. Watching it all come together on his social media is very rewarding, especially as we get to inspire others to explore new cuisines and destinations through his content.

2PM

After a busy first half of the day & shootings we get back home to avoid the afternoon traffic and after some cuddles with my dog I get my focus back to LoveLash. I work on social media content and on new product ideas. My recent focus has been the LoveLash Volume Boost Mascara, and it really means to world to me to see the all the positive reactions it received after the recent launch. Launching a new product is always super exciting and super scary at the same time. You work on it for months and months until you think it is perfect and the day you launch you are just worried about if people will think it’s perfect too? It’s definitely a rollercoaster of emotions until you get the first feedback from your customers!

4PM

My husband and I have a “switch-off” rule, where we make it a priority to close our laptops by 4 PM. This time is our daily reset, a chance to unwind and connect after a busy day. Most afternoons, we go straight to the kitchen to cook a delicious meal together. Since we're both huge foodies, cooking is our shared passion. We love to be in the kitchen together to create some random recipes! It’s our favorite part of the day, where we laugh, chat, and enjoy making something we both love.

5PM

At least 3 times a week we head out for a long walk to wind down and get some steps in. We figured out this is where we have the best conversations and it’s where we get our best business ideas for LoveLash and Feed Kiani! We actually do call it our "Business-Plan-Walk". We discuss goals and brainstorm ideas and we always dream big! A lot of amazing ideas were born during these walks. It’s a great way to mix workout with inspiration.

7PM

Now it’s time for my evening skincare, my favorite part of my daily routine and I love to take my time for this. Recently, I have added a Gua Sha ritual – it is an ancient Chinese facial massage technique. It helps to reduce the puffiness of the face and work naturally against wrinkles for a more contoured look. Not sure if it’s just my imagination but I feel it helps! After the Gua Sha treatment I use different serums and creams depending on what my skin needs at the moment. And of course, I end my skincare ritual with my LoveLash Lash and Brow serums to keep my lashes and brows healthy and nourished.

8PM

After a busy day of work and activities our favorite way to unwind is a cozy Netflix session together. Usually, a few episodes of any Love Is Blind (Yes, I got my husband hooked up on it too!) helps us to change from work mode to relaxation mode. It has become our go-to before ending the day. We love an early bedtime, usually around 9 or 10 PM, so that we can wake up feeling fully refreshed, recharged, and ready to start another busy and rewarding day.
