Here’s what you need to know...from glowing celebrity endorsements to high-tech home devices, red light therapy has become the buzzword in beauty. But does it actually work? Or is it just another trend that looks great on TikTok? We did some digging to find out!

Red light therapy (RLT) is also known as low-level laser therapy or photobiomodulation and uses specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light to stimulate the skin at a cellular level. When absorbed by the skin, the light energy is believed to boost the mitochondria, the “powerhouse” of our cells, encouraging increased production of ATP (the energy currency of cells), which helps with regeneration and repair.
