Bringing the worldwide phenomenon of Barry’s to the Saudi Arabian desert for the second time, Banyan Tree AlUla is inviting guests into a world of luxury and wellness for a collaborative long weekend escape.
Following on from a successful 2023 debut, the partnership with the global fitness giant will see guests embark on a transformative experience, allowing them to reset after the summer season, while nourishing their mind, body and soul.
Combining Barry’s world-renowned fitness expertise with the intimate luxury of Banyan Tree AlUla, the retreat will see the ethereal desert come alive with Barry’s signature classes and Banyan Tree AlUla’s bespoke wellness services, cultural excursions, and more. The retreat will run from Thursday, September 26, to Sunday, September 29, hosting guests in luxurious tented villas, set against the majestic backdrop of the Ashar Valley.
During the retreat, guests will enjoy a generous schedule of holistic wellness and fitness activities, including four invigorating Barry’s sessions hosted by Barry’s expert instructors, Lina Antar and Farah Adra, who will challenge limits and deliver results. Barry’s classes are revered worldwide, and its AlUla sessions will bring its iconic Red Room and hybrid-style training to these stunning natural surroundings. Guests will partake in Barry’s Full Body Workout, loved in more than 84 studios across the globe, in two daily sessions. All four workouts will target different body areas, combining HIIT, strength training, bodyweight, mobility and weights, to deliver a results-driven upper and lower body session. Partner workouts will also feature, focused on slow strength, injecting a dose of teamwork and a social element into the session.
The wellbeing weekend also features a heavy dose of relaxation, allowing guests to both mentally and physically reset and rejuvenate. Guests are treated to evening sound healing sessions under the starry desert skies, morning yoga and stretching sessions, and a 60-minute spa treatment at the Banyan Tree Spa, nestled between the soaring tawny-hued rocks.
Allowing guests to nourish their body from within and take healthy habits home, all meals are included in the retreat, including dining at Harat – Banyan Tree AlUla’s acclaimed Middle Eastern restaurant, overlooking the mirrored Maraya concert hall – Saffron – its signature Thai offering – and a special Bedouin Tent Dinner while stargazing. A healthy cooking class will let guests embrace their inner chef, learning the secret to creating delicious and nutritious dishes, followed by a lunch of their creations. The escape also features plenty of free time, allowing guests to unwind at the tranquil rock pool with the valley on the horizon, enjoy the exclusivity of their own private villa or explore AlUla’s ancient local surroundings.
